Darius (1989 – Leidschendam) took up golf when he was 11 years old. He has been a member of the Noordwijkse Golfclub for over 15 years. He enjoyed a successful junior/amateur career before turning Pro (h’cap +6) for the 2015 season. In his first pro year he won the Alps Tour Order of Merit, earning promotion to the Challenge Tour. Between 2016 and 2019 he had two victories in the Challenge Tour, claiming the first Challenge Tour win by a Dutch golfer in five years. In 2019 he ended 13th in the Order of Merit, earning a full card for the 2020 season of the European Tour. Unfortunately, this was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In February 2024, Darius won the Kenya Open. This made him the first Dutch golfer since 2018 to win a tournament on the European Tour and the fifth Dutch golfer ever to win a tournament on the European Tour.
